IEHA Awards2026 AWARD APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!Winners will be announced at the IEHA Annual Education Conference on November 3rd. Tom Chojnacki” NEHA Annual Educational Conference Stipend is conferred annually to a deserving member of IEHA who aspires to the professionalism that Tom Chojnacki modeled and promoted throughout his environmental health career. The award was established to finance one IEHA member’s expenses to attend the National Environmental Health Association Annual Educational Conference (AEC). You must be a current IEHA member to apply. The 2027 NEHA AEC location is TBD. A supervisor’s permission and signature are required for all applications. APPLYSanitarian of the Year is an annual award to recognize a professional that serves as a role model for all members. This person goes above and beyond the normal excellence in his/her field, by teaching, training, and striving to upgrade their own departments and also the total environment as a whole. The recipient receives a certificate to honor these achievements. Nominate a colleague for this award. The candidate must be an active IEHA member and you must provide 3 endorsement letters from current IEHA members. NOMINATENewcomer of the Year is an annual award to recognize an outstanding environmental health professional with two years or less experience in the field. The recipient receives a briefcase stocked with assorted equipment commonly used in the profession, free registration to the IEHA Annual Educational Conference (November 3-4, 2026), and a free one-year Active Membership in IEHA. Supervisors are encouraged to nominate new professionals for this award.
NOMINATEChapter Member of the Year Awards are prestigious honors of exceptional contributions to Environmental Health. These awards are nominated by the IEHA North, Central and South Vice Presidents and Directors.
